Offsite Feeding Volunteer – Squirrels / Safe Capture and Transport (Registration required by August 23)
This class is a 2-in-1 for volunteers interested in learning basic wildlife care of squirrels to be an offsite volunteer for our rescue. It will also cover safe capture and transport training for folks who want to help, but may not want to commit to feeding animals.
•Transport volunteers will ensure wildlife is transported from finders to our rescue or from rescue to rescue in a safe, secure environment. Transport volunteers are our lifeline after natural disasters, like hurricanes.
•Offsite feeding volunteers will care for orphaned and/or displaced squirrels from their own homes on a PRN schedule. Offsite volunteers can choose what age animal they want to work with and can choose weekday/weekend schedule.
REQUIREMENTS: Age 21 or older. Transport volunteers must have their own transportation. Offsite volunteers must be allowed to have animals in your home. You will need to be able to follow a 4-hour feeding schedule during the times you volunteer. All domesticated and exotic pets must be kept separate from wildlife in your care. Due to the health and safety of all animals, you cannot volunteer for other wildlife or domesticated animal rescues while volunteering for us.

Wildlife Rehab for Beginners Workshop (Limited space, registration required by August 23)
This introductory workshop is designed for anyone with a serious interest in establishing themselves as an independent wildlife rehabilitator or establishing their own rescue. In this workshop you will learn the basic business outline for what is needed to become an independent wildlife rehabilitator or rescue. THIS IS NOT A CLASS ON ANIMAL CARE but will discuss animal care topics. Anyone who completes this workshop will be eligible for Wildlife Rehab Basics, which is an introduction into species-specific animal care. Come prepared with questions!
